Job description

The Procurement Manager is responsible for implementing procurement strategies and managing the daily operation of the Purchasing Team to ensure product availability, improve service to Allredi’s Sales and Operations Teams, reduce costs and improve overall efficiency.  You will be responsible for leveraging the procurement spend (approximately $70M annually) for Allredi, working continuously to build strategic partnerships with our suppliers, managing both the supplier qualification process and negotiating both cost and terms across all product categories

Job requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Manage and implement effective procurement management strategies, including cost analysis, appropriate benchmarking and monitoring of performance indicators in collaboration with operations and sales.

·       Manage inventory levels and purchasing activity based on usage and forecast through gathering market intelligence from sales and the use of forecasting tools (Netstock).

·       Manage and mentor purchasing staff and provide leadership and guidance to ensure high performance and productivity.

·       Develops, reviews, and approves supply chain processes/procedures to improve and formalize procurement and sourcing processes.

·       Qualify vendors to include price verification/negotiation, product availability and delivery.

·       Review bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.

·       Support the Allredi leadership team with timely data, appropriate communication, detailed analysis, and KPI and vendor reporting.

·       Interface with all departments and resolve problems and issues relating to purchasing with urgency.

·       Run reports regularly to evaluate dead inventory and possibly return to Vendor

·       Various administrative duties include overseeing the open orders expediting, maintain vendor contact list in Sage, and review vendor invoice discrepancies.

Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Supply Chain

QUALIFICATIONS

·       5+ years of experience in Procurement. Ideally, the candidate should have prior. experience as a procurement or supply chain leader in industrial distribution.

·       Must have experience in an high SKU (5K+), multi-location environment with an annual spend of at least $25M.

·       Successful experience utilizing ERP and inventory forecasting software required.

·       Advanced skills in using Microsoft Excel for data analysis that produces actionable insights. Experience with Tableau or Power BI a plus.

·       Experience with key Allredi vendors including 3M strongly preferred.

·       Thorough working knowledge of purchasing policies and procedures

·       Knowledge of procurement best practices and industry trends as well as warehouse and inventory control policies and procedures.

·       Successful experience qualifying and managing vendors (negotiate best terms, pricing, delivery, service and quality).

·       Must be a true multi-task-oriented individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to 

·       Exceptional ability to analyze sales history and make quick decisions on purchasing.

·       Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 10-15% of the time.
